Piccoli

from $8.00

What in the world are “Piccoli?!” I named them piccoli, as this word means small or little in Italian. When making biscotti, the batter is shaped into a loaf, baked, sliced, and then baked again. When the loaf is cut, the slices get smaller towards the ends of each loaf. The last slice is the smallest, and is rounded, since it is the end of the loaf. Once the slices are baked again (biscotti means twice-baked), the ends become a little crispier and darker than the larger biscotti slices. When you order piccoli, you will receive a container filled with the ends of the biscotti “loaves” and possibly some small biscotti. If you like just a bite with your morning beverage, a small crunchy snack in the afternoon, or if you like to dunk them in your coffee, these are perfect! (“perfetti!”). Approximately 20 - 30 cookies can fit into the container, depending on the sizes.
